Piano Assessment - Pricing

Bill charges $59.00* (plus tax) for the assessment session, which typically lasts 30-60 minutes.  The assessment consists of the following:
  • Inspect wood finish for damage
  • Inspect keys for level & wear
  • Inspect pins for proper tightness
  • Inspect soundboard (top and bottom)
  • Inspect strings for rust and wear
  • Inspect hammers for alignment & wear
  • Inspect responsiveness of keys
  • Determine deviation from pitch
  • Deliver inspection report to customer




* There may be a trip charge for distances greater than fifteen miles from the northeast Columbus, Ohio area.

Upon completion of the inspection, Bill will review his observations with you.  While this is not an official appraisal, it can give help you to decide whether the piano is a good value or not.

For those using this assessment service and if they purchase the appraised piano, Bill extends a $5.00 discount off their first piano tuning/pitch raising session.  Be sure to mention this if you plan on having Bill tune your piano in the future!
